Epicor Insights 2025 Recap: AI and the Cloud at the Core of the ERP Future

15 May 2025

For Concerti, Epicor Insights is a valuable opportunity to speak directly with Epicor’s teams, better understand the future direction of the solutions, and ensure our services are aligned accordingly. We then share this critical information with our clients to help them prepare for what’s coming—and stay one step ahead.

Here’s what caught our team’s attention at Epicor Insights 2025.

Artificial Intelligence at the Heart of the Conversation

The main theme of the 2025 edition was clear: artificial intelligence (AI) is redefining ERP solutions by enabling capabilities never seen before. However, Epicor’s vision isn’t about replacing humans—as some fear—but rather about augmenting human productivity.

Their approach is user-centric: the goal is to provide tools that minimize time spent on low-value tasks, allowing users to focus on what truly matters.

Epicor is ushering in the era of cognitive ERP—systems capable of suggesting actions and responding proactively based on data within the software, instead of merely managing it.

Over the past year, more than 100 major updates and 600 minor improvements related to AI have been deployed. One of the most exciting developments is Epicor Prism, launched earlier in 2025. This AI-powered conversational agent marks just the beginning of a new chapter. Over time, it will become a central component of Epicor Kinetic for manufacturers aiming to maximize efficiency.

Several new AI-driven features are expected in the coming years. For example, Epicor Business Communication is an upcoming tool that will simplify email communications within the ERP system, while displaying key metrics like open and click-through rates.

Epicor Prism: Ushering in a New ERP Era

Epicor Prism is more than a chatbot. It’s a network of AI agents working together—each specialized in a specific task:

  • Multimodal Agent – Analyzes images (products, parts, charts)
  • Knowledge Agent – Instantly answers questions about system features or processes
  • Kinetic Filter Agent – Applies complex filters to data lists
  • Query Agent – Quickly retrieves targeted data (customers, suppliers, parts)
  • Metrics Agent – Provides real-time stats (totals, averages, counts)

And this is only the beginning. An ambitious roadmap has been outlined for the coming months, with new agents such as:

  • ECM Agent – Extracts data intelligently from content management documents
  • MRP Forecast Agent – Predicts material requirements based on customer history
  • Regulatory Compliance Agent – Monitors regulations and triggers certifications
  • RFQ Management Agent – Generates emails, collects responses, centralizes decisions
  • Quality Validation Agent – Compares product specs with images before shipping
  • Semantic Image Search Agent – Enables image-based search instead of keyword-based

AI: A Constantly Evolving Technology

Today’s AI agents can already perform simple to moderately complex tasks and collaborate to manage full processes with minimal human oversight. In the near future, AI will autonomously recommend actions or improvements based on real-time data.

Platforms like Grow BI will also benefit, gaining enhanced analytical power through new layers of AI to drive smarter decision-making.

Cloud as a Strategic Foundation

If AI is the tool of the future, the Cloud is the foundation. The key takeaway from Epicor Insights 2025 is this: the future of Epicor Kinetic is undeniably cloud-based.

This direction reflects the broader trend across the tech industry, with organizations focusing heavily on cloud-native software. The Cloud enables faster feature deployment, better security, and reduced reliance on internal IT infrastructure.

Today, Epicor Cloud solutions offer the stability, performance, and security enterprises demand. That confidence has allowed Epicor to concentrate its innovation efforts on these versions. Organizations that remain on-premise will eventually face limitations, as they won’t have access to the latest AI-powered features.

To ease the transition, Epicor is actively developing migration tools. One such tool—a system analyzer—will identify customizations in on-premise versions to help streamline the migration to the Cloud.

The ERP of the Future Is Smart and Cloud-Based

Epicor Insights 2025 confirmed what we’re already seeing in the field: the ERP of tomorrow will be intelligent, cloud-powered, and human-focused. AI is here to serve users, while the Cloud is essential to unlocking its full potential.
